How to draft with AI in Writing Studio and Research OS
Attach sources first, then use AI draft or Grounded draft. Edit every sentence before you save and export.

AI drafting works best after you attach papers. Without sources, the draft is weaker and citations may be missing.
Before you draft
- Save research questions in Overview
- Attach at least a few indexed sources
- Create the section you want (Introduction, Methods, and so on)
Writing Studio (simple path)
- Sidebar → Writing Studio (or project Writing tab)
- Add or open a section
- Click AI draft
- Edit the text in your own words
- Optional: Improve (Clarity / Academic tone / Concise / Expand)
- Click Save
- Repeat for the next section until the manuscript is complete
Research OS Write (richer path)
- Open Research OS → choose project → Write
- Grounded draft — draft using attached evidence
- Continue here — extend from the cursor
- Suggest next — propose the next writing move
- Cite — insert an RAI citation from your library
- Save often
Rules that keep you safe
- You are responsible for accuracy and academic honesty
- Check every [RAI-…] key against the real paper
- Do not invent citations
- Disclose AI assistance if your school requires it
