Library, citations, and how to get more papers in Research OS
Upload or import sources, insert RAI citations while writing, and keep searching until your evidence is strong enough.

Your library is the set of papers ResearchAI can read and cite. More good sources usually mean better grounded drafts.
Three ways to add papers
- Literature (sidebar): upload PDF or paste text → indexed → gets an RAI key.
- Project Sources tab: Attach an existing document, or Search → Import.
- Research OS → Library: scholarly search with Import + OA PDF, Metadata only, or Save to memory.
How to get more from the library
- Run a new search with clearer keywords (topic + population + year)
- Import more hits from the results list
- Upload PDFs your supervisor gave you
- Use Chat your library to ask what your current papers say
- Sync from Zotero if your references already live there
- Save borderline finds to memory, then import the best ones later
How citations enter your writing
- Research OS Write → Cite / Insert cite → places [RAI-…] in the text
- Grounded draft or AI draft may insert keys from attached evidence
- Writing Studio: type the key manually if needed
- Cite mode / Citation Explorer: format bibliography styles and inspect keys
A citation key is not decoration. Open the source and confirm the sentence truly matches the paper.
